Human Resources Generalist

Fort Myers Broadcasting Company is looking for a versatile HR Generalist to support our growing team. This position will handle day-to-day HR operations, serve as a reliable point of contact for employees and managers, support the HR Team, and help align people practices with company goals. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Benefits: Administer employee benefits, assist with open enrollment, maintain vendor relationships, and educate employees on benefit programs and questions.
  • Recruiting Events: Coordinate and participate in job fairs and other recruiting events while representing the Company professionally.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist the HR team with job postings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, new hire processes, and onboarding tasks.
  • Travel: Coordinate and book Company travel arrangements.
  • HR Records & Compliance: Maintain confidential employee records and HRIS information and support compliance with applicable employment laws and Company policies.
  • Employee Programs: Assist with training, employee engagement, recognition programs, and other HR initiatives.
  • HR Support: Provide day-to-day support to employees, managers, and the HR Team as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Other fields of study may be considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required, with experience in benefits, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and other general HR functions.
  • Equivalent relevant professional HR experience may be considered in lieu of the degree based on the candidate’s overall qualifications and demonstrated experience.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS/HRMS and ATS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workplace as needed.
  • Ability to regularly use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.

  • Ability to attend off-site meetings, job fairs, recruiting events, and Company events as needed. Overnight stays may be required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
